At a university, a corrupt professor is giving an oral exam on World War II.
The first student come in and the professor asks him for his lecture notes. The student gives them to the professor, and the professor finds 500 euros inside. He looks at the student with satisfaction and says: "When did World War II start?"
"1939", the student says.
"Excellent!" says the professor. "Congratulations, you passed the exam."
The second student comes in and the professor also asks to see his lecture notes. Inside he finds 300 euros this time.
"Let me see...," he says, "what date did World War II end?"
"Well, I think it was September 2, 1945."
"And what event caused it?"
"The surrender of Japan, I think."
"Correct! "Very good, you passed the exam."
Finally, the third student comes in and the professor also asks him for his lecture notes. The student gives them to him, but wherever the professor looks, there is no money inside. He turns the pages over and over again, looking carefully, but there really is nothing there.
"I see," says the professor, "that you have prepared well... Well, let me ask you then, which cities in Japan did the United States drop atomic bombs on?"
"It was Hiroshima and Nagasaki."
"Very good," says the professor. "And what were the dates?"
"Hiroshima occurred on August 6, 1945, and Nagasaki three days later, on the 9th."
"Excellent. And how many immediate human casualties were there in these attacks?"
"Overall, it is estimated that up to 240,000 people died as a direct result of the aerial bombings."
"True. And now, let's hear their names."
