LW #56: "Inte" in a subordinate clause

Another common mistake when it comes to word order is that we put inte after the verb in the subordinate clause (a subordinate clause is a part of the sentence that begins for example with words like om, som, när, där, att etc.).

In Swedish, inte comes before the verb in the subordinate clause.

For example:

Jag sa att jag inte vill sjunga.

not: Jag sa att jag vill inte sjunga.
